Just reposting the link to an old set of instructions I wrote for upgrading the Operating system on the Akai S3200XL sampler.
I still have some version 2.0 EPROMs availble – if anyone is interested, drop me a line.
The process allows you to upgrade your Akai sampler from 1.* versions to version 2.0. This emables better SCSI control and interfacting with application slike Mesa, Wavelab etc.
